Northern California Chapter of GAPNA

NCCGAPNA Chapter Meeting 4/11/2026 **Virtual**

Posted about 13 hours ago by Jennifer Serafin

Thank you for your continued engagement and commitment to advancing gerontological nursing practice. At our April 11 chapter meeting, we will be electing new chapter officers, and we invite you to consider stepping into a leadership role.

The following positions will be open:

  • President-Elect

  • Secretary

We strongly encourage self-nomination and welcome members who are interested in contributing their time, perspective, and leadership to the chapter.  Serving on the board offers a meaningful opportunity to help shape the direction of NCC-GAPNA while supporting our mission to promote high standards of healthcare for older adults through education, advocacy, and research.

Officer Role Descriptions

President-Elect

Elected annually, the President-Elect serves as a voting member of the Executive Board and performs delegated duties as assigned. Working closely with the President and Immediate Past President, the President-Elect gains experience in chapter leadership and assumes the role of President at the conclusion of their term. The President-Elect also fulfills the duties of the President in their absence.

Secretary

Elected in even-numbered years for a two-year term, the Secretary works closely with the President in the administration and management of the chapter. Responsibilities include providing notice of meetings, attending and documenting all chapter meetings, maintaining minutes and records, and managing the membership roster provided by the national organization.

We are also pleased to welcome a student representative to the board each year through our Student Scholarship. If you work with student nurse practitioners, please encourage them to apply:
