Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) – Urgent Care

Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

Schedule: 12-hour shifts; weekend availability required

Locations: Multiple locations across LA County including Downtown LA, Montebello, South Bay, and Pasadena

Position Overview:

We are seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to join a fast-paced urgent care environment. This role is ideal for APPs who thrive in high-acuity settings, work well independently, and deliver exceptional patient-centered care. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available, with a strong need for weekend coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform physical exams, assessments, and preventive health services
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests
  • Develop and document treatment plans and clinical outcomes
  • Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions within scope
  • Triage patients and manage patient flow and throughput
  • Respond to emergency and life-saving situations; confidently manage codes
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary clinical teams
  • Maintain accurate documentation using EMR (Experity)
  • Ensure patient safety, dignity, comfort, and satisfaction
  • Follow infection control, safety, and compliance standards
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Maintain clean, organized clinical spaces and equipment

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care experience, including solo provider experience
  • Active California NP or PA license
  • Board Certification: AANPCB or ANCC for NP; NCCPA for PA
  • Current DEA license (California address required)
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (required)
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to multitask under pressure
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and computer documentation
  • Skilled in IV access, blood draws, and medication administration

Schedule Requirements

  • Full-Time: 3 shifts/week (30+ hours) - Must work one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) each week
  • Part-Time: 1–2 shifts/week - Must work Friday, Saturday, or Sunday
  • Weekend shifts may be 6 or 12 hours
  • Minimum commitment: 4 shifts per month
  • Flexibility to float within a 15–20 mile radius as needed

Compensation & Benefits

  • Effective hourly rate: approximately $95/hour ($82/hr + penalty pay for 12-hour shifts)
